Billy’s
good health continues, in fact he says he feels better than he has ever felt.
He has been tested recently and the tests show that he is in great
health. He takes two to four ounces
of Essiac a day to keep his immune system boosted and also does at least two
21-day cycles of 714X per year for the same reason.
Billy tries to eat carefully, keeping away from processed food, red meat,
dairy products and sugar however he isn’t as strict with his eating habits as
he was when he had cancer. He takes
lots of Shaklee supplements to make up for whatever he doesn’t get from his
diet. He keeps very active with
skateboarding, his favorite activity.
He spent a good part of 1999 living in Vail,
Colorado working, snowboarding, skateboarding and having a great time!
Then he came back to Boston and worked and became a Distributor for
Resperin Essiac and Shaklee products. Billy moved to California in September of
2002 and is working there currently.

Here are some other things that Billy has been involved with:
September 2001
National Cancer Institute, Office of Cancer Complementary and Alternative
Medicine
Due
to a lot of publicity about 714X in the Boston area in 2001, Dana Farber Cancer
Institute requested that the National Cancer Institute review 714X and see if it
is a viable treatment.
Gaston Naessens, the inventor of 714X and his wife and business partner,
Jacinte chose twelve successful cases to be sent to the NCI and Billy was one of
those cases.
The NCI and the Naessens are still working on getting all of the medical
records for the six of these cases that will be reviewed by the NCI.
When the records are complete the NCI will set a date for a hearing and
Billy and the other five people will have the opportunity to appear before the
NCI committee.
We are hoping that this will happen soon!

"Inside Edition" TV
Show
This show told the story of Billy running away from home to avoid
chemotherapy and how God guided the Best Family through life-changing events
that totally changed their outlook. It brought out how unusual it was for Sue
and Bill Best to stop listening to the doctors and completely change over to
natural therapies such as Essiac and 714X. The family’s involvement with
natural therapies since 1995 and their thrill at Billy’s great health were
also highlighted.
September 1999
Cancer Control Society’s 27th
Annual Convention
Alternative Therapies
Billy was featured as a speaker who told his story and also commented on some
of the incorrect information that was part of the "48 Hours" tv show.
He and his mother, Sue Best were exhibitors for Resperin Essiac. This convention
is held at the Sheraton Universal in Universal City, California. The 28th
Convention will be held there September 2-4, 2000. See
www.cancercontrolsociety.com for information.

CBS "48 Hours"
This
tv show was about Billy and Katie Hartley, and their use of the homeopathic
remedy 714X in their battles against cancer.
The program presented 714X in a rather unfavorable light, however the
bottom line was very evident – both Katie and Billy are well today because of
714X! Unfortunately, the other
treatments that were used (Essiac, vitamin supplements and nutritional changes)
were not mentioned.
